PROJECTS
Title: Hoskinstown Landcare Group Remnant Vegetation Protection & Wildlife Corridors Project
Funding: NHT Save The Bush Program
Year: 1996/97
Description: Stage 1 of long-term plan to establish green corridor from Kowen and Brooks Hill Reserve in the west to Black range and Tallaganda Forest in the East. This will be achieved by fencing out existing remnants and linking these with extensive wildlife corridors direct seeded with local seed.
Title: Hoskinstown Landcare Group Remnant Vegetation Protection and Wildlife Corridors
Funding: NHT Murray-Darling 2001 Program
Year: 1997-2000
Description: Project covers stage two of long term plan to establish a green corridor from Kowen to Brooks Hill Reserve, and to Black Range and Tallanganda Forest. Fencing, direct seeding and tree planting will be involved.
Title: Greening the Molonglo High Plain
Funding: NHT Bushcare Program
Year: 1998 - 2001

Title: Remnant Vegetation Project on "Woodend", Rossi, via Hoskinstown
FundingYear: 1996/97
Description: Fence off 4.7 ha area of remnant vegetation to conserve and enhance area of remnant bushland and connect with existing corridor system.
Title: Bungendore Hoskinstown Rossi Revegetation
Funding: NHT Bushcare Program
Year: 1999-2001
Description: The aim of this project is to develop and implement a plan to reverse the long term decline in native vegetation and encourage sustainable agriculture within the Bungendore/Hoskinstown/Rossi area. Degraded sites requiring action will be identified and prioritised through the development of a Management Plan. To implement the Plan a series of onground works will be carried out which focus on re-establishing vegetation whilst in other areas removing the threatening processes to encourage natural regeneration.
Title: Linking the Past for the Future
Funding: NHT NRM Program
Year: 2002/03
Description: Tree planting and direct seeding activities have been carried out in the Hoskinstown - Rossi district for more than 10 years. This project involves 10 landholders in our landcare area and is aimed at fencing out to exclude livestock from 10 existing remnant areas and linking and extending these remnants to other corridors created in past projects by tree planting using proven native species to this area.
Title:
Linking the Past for the Future (Stage 2) and Bringing Back the Molonglo Lagoon
Funding: NHT NRM Program
Year: 2003/04
Description: This project involves seven landholders and will fence six existing remnant areas to exclude livestock. Tree corridors will link to four remnants using native species to this area. 7.5 km of fencing will be erected with 9.7 km of direct seeding and 2750 tubestock. The project will fence off the Molonglo Lagoon which covers an area of about 12 ha. In the past this lagoon was an important local breeding wetland for water fowl but for the last 30 years has been severely degraded to the extent that no wetland vegetation exists and consequently no waterfowl breed. This initial stage will provide some protection from wind which will enable wetland vegetation to be established in the future.
