Title: 'Fencing the Creek' - Wattle and Yerong Creek Drought Refuge Project
Program: NRM
Description: This project will enhance water quality by controlling erosion protecting watercourses from stock and providing refuge habitat for wildlife during drought periods. This project will erect 6km of fencing across two project sites 10 km east of Yerong Creek. One project site will stabilise stream banks whilst the other project site will create vegetated drainage lines on hillside slopes by planting 1000 trees.
Funding: (2002/2003) $11,700

Title: Wattle Creek Water Quality and Erosion Control Project
Program: NRM
Description: This project will further on-ground action to address the Wattle Creek Land and Water implementation plan which identifies creek and gully erosion as a key catchment health issue. Wattle Creek is characterised by high velocity water flow an undulating land formation and highly dispersible soils. This project will continue to control substantial stream bank and bed erosion and expand the wildlife corridor linkage being created.
