PROJECTS
Title: Creek Corridor Project
Program: NRM
Description: This project will fence and enhance the understorey of creek and remnant vegetation and create new riparian corridors through revegetation on five properties and several sites. The project involves fencing creeklines and remnant sites and planting trees to new areas and enhancing understorey through plantings on existing conservation areas. These new corridors will add to a mosaic of wildlife passages which have been created by the activities of the Milbrulong Landcare Group over the past seven years. These protected areas are beginning to form consistent wildlife passages through many properties which link to significant regional vegetation sites.
Funding: (2003/2004) $13,363
Title: Long Paddock Waterway Project
Program: NRM
Description: The project will conserve native vegetation and enhance local biodiversity by planting trees and erecting 5.27km of fencing over a total area of 13.4ha. These activities will expand on previous work aiming to link various natural features such as waterways wetlands and remnant vegetation across the Milbrulong area. This project will introduce new members to Landcare and involve them in the project activities under the guidance of existing members.
Funding: (2004/2005) $11,737
Title: Creating Corridors to Protect Water Quality and Biodiversity
Program: NRM
Description: This project will improve water quality and biodiversity and encourage community awareness of natural resource management issues. It will enhance and protect watercourses remnant vegetation and establish and link existing wildlife corridors on nine properties. Seven landholders will construct 9.6 km of fencing direct seed 3km and plant 4150 trees and shrubs. This will protect 31 ha of existing vegetation revegetation and watercourses.
