Projects
Title: Control Seepage Drainage and Rehabilitate Roadside Vegetation
Program: Murray-Darling 2001
Description: To rectify high water table seepage and poor drainage on the roadside, which is causing degradation of neighbouring farmland and deterioration of the road surface, increasing salinity in the area.
Funding: (1997/1998) $6,122
Title: Protecting Remnant Vegetation in Coleambally
Program: NRM
Description: This project will provide incentives for landholders to protect and enhance existing stands of remnant vegetation by providing fencing materials and seedlings. All sites will be managed to ensure the long term survival of existing remnant and plantings. A bird identification workshop will be held with participating landholders and interested members of the community to showcase the diversity and number of birds that can be found in remnant areas. Upon completion of the project a field day will be held with vegetation experts in attendance to showcase how the project has been implemented. Successful management strategies will be emphasised. The project will increase community and landholder knowledge and understanding as well as protecting a significant area of remnant vegetation.
Funding: (2002/2003) $17,357
