Title: Picaree Hill Conservation Project
Program: Bushcare
Description: The Picaree Hill Conservation project will protect and enhance under covenant 1500 acres of remnant native woodland, forests and grassland for conservation purposes. A further 500 acres of adjoining woodland, grassland and wetland will be protected under signed management agreements. An integrated and cost effective management plan covering 4 properties will include: a signed covenant, management agreements, initial fauna and flora surveys, feral proof fencing, weed and feral animal control, understorey enhancement, revegetation and the monitoring and evaluation of ecological changes and management activities.

Title: Stop Our Salt and Soil Entering Yass River
Program: Murray-Darling 2001
Description: The Dicks Creek area in Yass River Catchment has chronic dryland salinity with huge impacts on downstream water users and the environment. We will reduce groundwater discharge and stop salt laden soil loss from 8 sites covering 42 hectares. The Department of Land, Water Conservation technical certificates are attached. The project will include community education.

Title: Flora of the Murrumbateman District - A Pocket Guide
Program: NRM
Description: This project will provide the basis for landholder and agency identification and knowledge of the main native flora species in the district as well as major weed species that are a threat to the survival of the remnant native species and agricultural production. It will comprise a small booklet consisting of approximately 50 pages and will concentrate on the two major threatened ecological communities in the area - Yellow Box/Red Gum Grassy Woodland and Southern Tablelands Natural Temperate Grassland. It will include the main trees some understorey species natural temperate grasses and some forbs as well as weeds.

Title: Protection of Endangered Box Gum Woodland in Scrubby Lane Murrumbateman
Program: NRM
Description: This project will protect an area of 4 ha of remnant endangered White Box-Yellow Box-Red Gum woodland and supplementary plantings that have been undertaken by Murrumbateman Landcare Group since 2000. There are few areas of such woodland which are protected in reserves within the Yass Valley Shire and this project is an opportunity to improve the protection.
